Reiki (pronounced "RAY-key") is a Japanese technique consisting of two words, Rei and Ki, basically meaning Source, and Energy, respectively.
Reiki is based on the premise that we are all connected through a Universal Life Energy, an energy which animates us all, is found all around us, and is channeled through the practitioner to the recipient. The energy flows wherever it is required, and is often felt as a warm sensation or tingling in the body, as it balances, energizes, and removes toxins and stress.
Receiving Reiki is a very relaxing and soothing experience, and does not apply any pressure on the body, making it ideal for treating all ages and conditions. Reiki can be used for many ailments, but should never be used as a substitute for medical treatment, rather as a natural, complimentary way to become
and remain healthy.
There is no religious belief system attached to Reiki, so anyone can receive a Reiki treatment or attunement. Reiki helps to harmonize body, mind and spirit, promoting self-healing.
